Double Chin Eats: Redefining Asian comfort food
Double Chin Eats has arrived to inject some fun into Sydney’s dining scene.
With an attitude that’s both fun and cheeky (their mantra is: ‘double the chins, double the grins’), this clearly isn’t ‘just’ another dumpling place.
Redefining Asian comfort food, Double Chin Eats is turning tradition on its head, serving up delicious, high-quality dishes that are as daring as they are delightful. The art of dumpling-making is taken to a whole new level here. Their dumpling masters roll each skin to the millimetre for that perfect, delicate bite. And the fillings have been meticulously tested and fine-tuned for the perfect flavour explosion, with just the right ratio of ingredients to ensure ‘need-your-napkin’ juiciness with every bite.
Every dish on the menu brings something fresh and exciting to the table. From juicy, hand-crafted Pork & Chive Gyozas that will leave diners craving more, to the signature fluffy and silky Egg Fried Rice, it’s comfort food, but not as you know it. The menu caters to all tastes and dietary needs, with gluten-free, vegetarian, and kid-friendly options, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
Specialising in elevated Asian comfort food, Double Chin Eats has reimagined classic dishes with unexpected modern twists. Think Truffle Scallop & Pork Siu Mai that brings together earthy and umami notes, or the Lychee Rose Ice Cream Bao that’s as refreshing as it is Instagram-worthy.
From premium short-grain sushi rice to freshly prepared wok dishes, Double Chin Eats is committed to using only the finest ingredients. Featuring cuts like black pepper beef tenderloin, each dish offers a fresh spin on familiar flavours. Other meticulously crafted highlights include the outstanding Kung Pao Chicken with Cashew Nuts which perfectly combines salty, sweet and spicy, the Egg Fried Rice with Prawn which is absolutely packed with flavour and their top-notch Spicy N’ Dry noodles which are just so deliciously spicy.
They’ve also just launched the Ocean Treasure Bowl Dumpling – a kawaii, fish-shaped masterpiece that’s almost too cute to eat. This fish-shaped dumpling is packed with prawns and carefully detailed to perfection, resting on a bed of truffle-kissed chawanmushi. For the uninitiated, chawanmushi is a light, silky Japanese egg custard with a melt-in-your-mouth texture, bringing a comforting yet luxurious balance of flavours. The Ocean Treasures Bowl, priced at only $6.50, is as photogenic as it is delicious, and is available for a limited time (until 10 November, 2024) at all Double Chin Eats locations.
Double Chin Eats is a great addition to the Sydney food scene with its fun vibe and totally delectable food. Whether you’re a local foodie, a family looking for a fun and easy dining spot, or are someone who needs a quick and tasty bite in between errands, Double Chin Eats has something for you.
