Hello Auntie’s New Menu For Truffle Lovers
After the success of their limited-edition menu last year, Hello Auntie has launched a brand new menu for all truffle lovers.
Combining modern Vietnamese with flavourful truffles, Hello Auntie have really upped the stakes in what is set to be a delicious winter.
Well known for their new-school twist on classic Vietnamese favourites, Sydneysiders are in for a treat with this new limited edition menu to celebrate truffle season. For a starter, you cannot go past the “Banh Ga Bap Chien” ($22) – two indulgent chicken, corn and truffle croquettes which are so flavourful, you may not be able to stop yourself from licking your fingers clean once devouring them.
For something more substantial, you can get into the mouth-watering “Khoai Tay Chien Nam Ragu: Poutine” ($35) with wild mushroom truffle ragu on a bed of sebago hand cut chips and fried halloumi or crowd favourite – the “Mi Nam Truffle” ($35) – made with egg noodles cooked in a rich truffle sauce and served with crispy pork lardons and fresh truffle. Saucy, crispy and just absolutely scrumptious! But our top pick would have to be the “Com Chien Truffle ”($45) featuring their legendary fried rice with woodear and king brown mushroom, truffle salsa and fresh truffle. The ingredients blend together so perfectly making this the ultimate cozy comfort dish to enjoy over the colder months.
We also recommend exploring the rest of the menu while you’re there as there’s just too much deliciousness to pass up. If you’re overwhelmed with the choices, you really cannot go past the ‘Feed Me Auntie’ shared banquet (minimum 4 people) for $65pp which features several highlights from their extensive menu. One of our faves is the Cha Bo Nuong with Angus brisket MB2 loaf (QLD), grilled over charcoal served with fermented pineapple, perilla and peanuts. With its exquisite burst of flavours in your mouth, it’s highly addictive and hard to resist!
You’ll definitely be wanting dessert before you leave. Our top pick is the “Banh Artichoke Nam Truffle” ($25) which is a reinvention of a traditional torte with spiced Jerusalem artichoke and truffle, truffle frosting and a helping of fresh truffle. Also available is the “Banh Socola Keo Xop Truffle” ($12) – a decadent choc-chip cookie sandwich filled with truffle marshmallow and strawberry gel; and “Banh Truffle Pho Mai” ($25) – Hello Auntie’s famous basque cheesecake featuring a truffle twist.
Hello Auntie have done it again with yet another delicious menu sure to keep customers coming back for more. But do get in quick as this truffle menu will only be available until the end of truffle season. Wash it all down with one of their many cocktails, mocktails, wines, beers or non-alcoholic drinks and ensure you leave on a high.
