LIL WAYNE: I Am Not A Human Being 2
Grammy Award winning recording artist and label owner, Lil Wayne, has just released his tenth full length album, I Am Not A Human Being 2, via Cash Money Records.
“(The Album) is an incredible body of work and cements Wayne’s status as an icon,” says Ronald “Slim” Williams, Co-CEO of Cash Money Records. Adds Bryan “Birdman” Williams, Co-CEO of Cash Money Records, “Lil Wayne is arguably one of the most original, and extraordinary recording artists of all time. This is an excellent offering from the best of the best.”
“Love Me,” the single from I Am Not a Human Being 2 is currently available on digital retailers. Produced by Mike Will Made It, “Love Me” is a hazy, bass heavy, club ready anthem with Future and Drake‘s signature vocals and Wayne‘s classic, witty punch-lines. “Love Me” quickly impacted radio, becoming the #1 most added song at US Urban Radio and is currently at #4 on the Urban Radio charts. Prior to “Love Me,” Lil Wayne released “No Worries” featuring Detail, who also produced the track. The first single to emerge from I Am Not A Human Being 2 was the fast-paced “My Homies Still” featuring Big Sean.
The album’s stunning artwork was created by DONDA, creative content company founded by Kanye West. Also under the art creative direction of the project is the previously released artwork for “Love Me,” inclusive of both static and animated realization. The inspiration behind the album cover was the timelessness of Lil Wayne as an artist. The butterfly has many stages in life and represents longevity and reinvention.
I Am Not A Human Being 2 is a follow up to Lil Wayne’s Grammy nominated effort Tha Carter IV, which was 2011’s highest-selling hip-hop album and has since sold over 2.5 million copies globally. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, selling over 964,000 copies in its first week, making it the second highest week one sales of 2011, second only to Lady Gaga’s Born This Way. The album also serves as the sequel to his chart-topping, platinum-selling 2010 smash, I Am Not a Human Being, which has sold 1.2 million albums to date.
In September 2012, Lil Wayne made pop-culture history, for most entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Lil Wayne overthrew The King’s previous hold, when he secured 109 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, beating the 108 posted by the late Elvis Presley between 1958 and 2003. Lil Wayne’s contributions to the Billboard Hot 100 Chart include two number one singles including Wayne’s first hit No. 1 with 2008’s “Lollipop” as well as 2009’s “Down,” on which he assisted label-mate Jay Sean.
Concludes Lil Wayne’s manager, Cortez Bryant, co-CEO of Blueprint Group, “Lil Wayne has left a mark on global pop culture. He has been a trailblazer for not just hip hop, but music in general, and we are excited for him to release this album and continue evolving his brand”.
