Luna Lu welcome warmer season with new menu & NYE party
Sydney harbourside restaurant, Luna Lu, has just launched their new Spring/Summer menu to welcome the warmer season.
With a focus on local, seasonal and First Nations ingredients such as Davidson Plum and Saltbush, Luna Lu’s Executive Head, Chef Dario Nencioni, has carefully curated a selection of new dishes, with a mission to blend tradition with innovative Asian cuisine.
Showcasing some of the highest quality, carbon-neutral ingredients from our local farmers, the new menu is a delicious symphony of flavours; perfectly complementing the beautiful view of iconic Sydney harbour.
For your entree, you can kick off with something fresh such as the Appellation Oysters from Merimbula ($36), the Hiramasa Kingfish Sashimi garnished with white miso, Oscietra caviar, yuzu and ginger dressing ($33), or the spectacular Trio Tartare with salmon, snapper, kingfish, mango Som Tum Thai dressing, avocado served with plantain chips ($29).
For a warmer option, you absolutely cannot go past the Kataifi Prawns – Kataifi wrapped tiger prawns, yuzu avocado, sweet spiced mayo and dragonfruit ($38). Super crunchy and super delicious. If you’re not a huge fan of seafood, then try Luna Lu’s fan-favourite Pork Belly Bao ($32) or Black Truffle Duck Spring Rolls ($26).
For something more substantial, there are some outstanding large plates to dig into including new additions such as the Crispy Sweet Yuzu Chicken topped with native Australian lemon myrtle salt ($38) and the Spicy Dan Dan Noodles tossed with bok choy, tofu and tossed in a spicy sesame sauce ($30).
Another top pick is one of Luna Lu’s signature dishes, the Seafood Candied Fried Rice ($44). This one comes with special fried rice with beetroot puree which gives it a vibrant pink colour and includes a whole egg, pickled cabbage, and ginger. Topped with stir fried Hokkaido scallops, king prawns in XO sauce, and salmon roe, it’s as good as it gets – a culinary masterpiece!
To end your dining on a sweet note, the Yuzu Velvet Bliss ($32) is a must-try, with Yuzu namelaka cream, mango gel and matcha biscuit. Or opt for one of Luna Lu’s signature desserts: the edible Luna Lu Opera House ($35), made with lamington mousse, berry coulis and a crispy wattle-seed biscuit base.
You can also end your year on a high note as Luna Lu is now accepting NYE bookings to ring in 2025. Their ‘VIP Dining Dome Package’ will no doubt be one of the most exclusive ways to celebrate this year. For $10,000, one group of up to eight people can enjoy an exclusive front-row seat to the fireworks in a private dome. It’s the ultimate luxury experience, combining unparalleled views with a curated fine dining menu and drinks package.
Additionally, Luna Lu has two private dining rooms with harbour views available: Private Dining Room for 12 guests ($10,000 – Perfect for those seeking an intimate, premium experience with stunning waterfront views) and Private Dining Room for 10 guests ($8,000 – Another great option to enjoy exclusive dining with breathtaking vistas). For smaller groups, Luna Lu’s outdoor waterfront terrace dining starts at $1,100 per person, while indoor dining is available for $950 per person. If you’re after a more social, relaxed vibe, Bar Lulu upstairs is offering a cocktail-style standing event with roaming canapés and flowing champagne for $550 per person. More details here.
