My review to book an Australia tour from Thrillophilia
My fiancé surprised me with a trip to Australia, two months before our marriage. We had been talking about going on one more trip as bachelors, but I had no idea he had Australia in mind. One morning, he called me up and said, “We are going to Australia!” At first, I didn’t know what to believe or how to react. Then he told me all the details of how he booked a package for the two of us from a company called Thrillophilia. It was a 10-day and 9-night package that included a tour of Sydney, Melbourne, and the Great Barrier Reef.
At first, I was indeed angry at him for being so impulsive and taking such a decision without discussing it with me. A huge expense was coming our way, which was our wedding, and I just felt that it was not the right time for us to go to Australia. Then I realized that what’s done is done, and now the only thing left to do is to actually go to Australia. Before that, I wanted to be sure that he had booked everything correctly, so I checked out the website. I read some information about the company and even went through a dozen positive reviews of Thrillophilia. After being assured, I was ready and excited to travel to my dream destination.
About the Trip!!
As soon as we arrived at Sydney Airport, we received a call from an associate of the company that a driver was already waiting for us outside. First, we collected our bags and completed the immigration process. It was really easy to spot our driver in the crowd as he was holding a board with our names on it. He shook hands with us and then helped us with our luggage. I loved the fact that there were some snacks and water bottles in the car for us, which was a very thoughtful gesture.
From the airport, we got transferred to our pre-booked hotel. It was a beautiful hotel located right by the Sydney Harbour. The check-in formalities didn’t take long as Thrillophilia had already taken care of everything. We headed towards our room, which was very spacious with beautiful interiors and a huge window overlooking the Sydney Opera House.
Our first day was at leisure, so we decided to explore the nearby places on our own. We left the hotel in the evening after taking sufficient rest. First, we made a stop at a charming little café as we were extremely hungry. We ordered a pizza and two mocktails. After that, we went to the nearby market, purchased some souvenirs, and even interacted with a few locals. It was a sweet and simple beginning to our trip, after which we headed back to our hotel.
The next day, we were going to explore the major attractions of Sydney. We decided to travel by local bus as I believe that you get to know about the local culture and daily lifestyle only by travelling in public transport. It was difficult to figure out at first where to get the bus from and which bus to take. My fiancé contacted the customer representative of Thrillophilia who guided us so that we could get on the right bus. It was a double-decker bus, although we could not get a seat on its roof.
Throughout the day, we visited several attractions such as the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Bondi Beach, Taronga Zoo, and the Royal Botanic Garden. We even tried a few local dishes such as Meat Pie, Barramundi, Pavlova, and Lamingtons.
On the third day, we checked out early from our hotel as we were going to Melbourne. The driver came to pick us up and then dropped us off at the train station from where we boarded a train to Melbourne. After almost an 11-hour train ride, we finally reached our destination. Another driver of the company came to pick us up from the station and dropped us off at our pre-booked hotel. As it was our leisure day, we decided to stay in our room and rest.
Day 4 of our itinerary included a sightseeing tour of Melbourne. Our driver came to pick us up in the morning and we left right after having our breakfast. We explored the iconic landmarks of the city such as the Royal Botanic Gardens, Federation Square, Queen Victoria Market, Melbourne Zoo, and St. Kilda Beach. It was a wholesome day where we got to admire stunning art pieces as well as learn more about the history of the city.
On day 5, we travelled from Melbourne to Cairns, the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. After a 3-hour long flight, we finally arrived at our hotel in Cairns and completed the check-in formalities. We quickly freshened up and got dressed up to eat outside. We stopped at several food stalls to try the local street food of the city. We tried amazing dishes like Prawns, Barramundi, and Kangaroo Steak. After eating, we were casually strolling around when we saw a musician singing on the streets. He was singing in a native language which we were unable to understand but even then we danced to its tune. Dancing on the streets of Cairns with my partner, in front of complete strangers is a core memory that I am going to cherish forever.
The next day we woke up to a beautiful view outside our window. We got ready while having our breakfast in the room. Today we were going on an excursion to the Great Barrier Reef. Our driver dropped us at the marina from where we boarded a boat to the reef. We snorkelled and even went on a glass-bottom boat tour. The vibrant coral formations and the diverse marine life were truly a sight to behold.
Day 10 was our day of departure and it was our time to bid farewell to this enchanting place. Australia is definitely a bucket list destination that everyone should visit at least once. We wanted to stay here for longer, however, we had to return home. After our breakfast, we completed the check-out formalities and our driver dropped us off at the airport.
The Most Memorable Trip of My Life!
It was a truly beautiful trip where everything was arranged perfectly for us. The little gestures like calling us to inform us that the driver is outside the airport, storing snacks in the car, or helping us over the call while we were stuck to get transport really speak a lot about the company. It was a smooth trip where we experienced literally zero hassle. I am glad that my fiancé chose the right company for this trip as it was our last trip as bachelors and meant a lot to both of us. I am dropping this Thrillophilia review to let others know that if they are reading this, they are on the right platform.
