Oktoberfest In The Gardens 2026

Oktoberfest In The Gardens 2026

Australia’s largest and longest running Oktoberfest in the Gardens festival is back in Sydney, the city that propelled the event to the national behemoth it is today. Held in The Domain since 2015, Sydney remains the largest Oktoberfest destination held anywhere in Australia – with 20,000+ revellers expected in 2026.

Oktoberfest in the Gardens 2026 will be held in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Newcastle, the Gold Coast, and for the first time, Canberra – bringing the national tour to eight cities across Australia. More than 70,000 people attended the seven single-day events in 2025, with even bigger crowds expected this year as the festival expands into the nation’s capital.

Inspired by a love of the traditional Bavarian festival and great bier, Oktoberfest in the Gardens features colossal beer halls, authentic German food stalls, roving performers, thrill rides, sideshow alley, silent discos, and an eclectic mix of entertainment and on-stage competitions across multiple stages throughout the afternoon and evening. You’ll be able to taste your way across Europe with a large selection of imported German beer, cider, wine and a range of other beverages.

“More than 70,000 people celebrated Oktoberfest in the Gardens with us around Australia last year, which was an incredible milestone – and in 2026, we’re going even bigger,” says Ross Drennan, co-founder of Nokturnl Events alongside business partner, Drew Flanagan.

“Canberra joins the tour for the first time this year, taking us to eight cities nationally. To see something that started in Perth 16 years ago continue to grow into Australia’s longest-running touring Oktoberfest festival is something we’re pretty proud of.”

The festival also enters 2026 following international recognition from Condé Nast Traveller, which named Oktoberfest in the Gardens among the top five Oktoberfest celebrations in the world in 2025.

“Oktoberfest is one of those events people genuinely look forward to every year,” says Drew. “There’s nothing quite like seeing thousands of people dressed in lederhosen and dirndls, steins in hand, celebrating together. Whether it’s your first Oktoberfest or your sixteenth – the atmosphere is pretty hard to beat!”

Oktoberfest In The Gardens 2026

Australians have embraced the tradition of Oktoberfest, immersing themselves in the unique blend of music, food and festivities that celebrate Bavarian culture, with thousands of revellers in traditional attire taking over some of Australia’s biggest cities each year.

Tickets for all eight Oktoberfest in the Gardens events are on sale now through Moshtix – and 2026 is already shaping up to be another huge year, with record ticket sales to date. The celebrations kicked off in suitably epic fashion, with Oktoberfest in the Gardens giving away a $10,000 trip to Germany as part of its 2026 launch – sending one lucky winner straight to the home of Oktoberfest itself.

With year-on-year sold-out events, more than 70,000 attendees in 2025 and record-breaking sales already underway for 2026, this is one event you won’t want to miss.
