Sydney Food Truck Jam

Sydney Food Truck Jam

Sydney is set to experience its first ever EQ Food Truck Jam, with the most obsessed about street food outlets bringing flavoursome flair to the Entertainment Quarter this October long weekend.

The EQ Food Truck Jam will see Sydney’s sought after Food Trucks gather for the first time in one location, and bring the deliciousness of traders such as Toby’s Estate Coffee, Bad Betty Burgers, NYPD New York Sandwiches, Cherry Highway ice-cream plus many more together in a tasty street food explosion.

EQ Food Truck Jam highlights will include the famous ‘bearded bakers’ from Knafeh (as seen on Channel Nine’s Today Show) who infuse the theatre of food preparation with their Jerusalem sweet cheese and semolina desserts with crushed pistachios and a fragrant sugar syrup.

The Tella Ball stand is sure to attract a line-up (which they do in Sydney each weekend) for their coveted milkshakes topped with Nutella filled donuts – a worldwide social media sensation and not to be missed! With Sydney’s food trucks serving up some of the most unique and addictive cuisine around, there will be everything from Caminito Chorizo and Churros, Cantina Movil Mexical, Moji Picon Paella, Let’s Do Yum Cha, Urban Pasta, Homeland Street Food, Monster Rolls, Tsuru Steamed Buns and Homeland Street food, A Taste of Ethiopia and Agape Organic Pizza and Tapas. Wats on Tap will service alcoholic beverages including a special spring cocktail, and Limonada lemonade stand is sure to be popular among the kids.

Entry to the EQ Food Truck Jam is free and the event is set to attract a buzzing atmosphere and a crowd of over 5,000 people. There will be family friendly entertainment across the weekend with a jumping castle, DJ’s, Brent Street Performers, Sydney Trapeze School plus giveaways. The EQ Food Truck Jam additionally signifies the beginning of the Entertainment Quarter’s night markets, which take place throughout spring and summer, offering a continuation of fun and food.

Sydney’s Food Trucks have become an institution since 2011 when The City of Sydney council launched a campaign to bring vibrancy to the streets that is seen in internationally attractive destinations such as New York. Sydney’s residents and visitors have enthusiastically embraced the street cuisine and the Food Trucks are now a permanent part of the local culture.

Follow each outlet’s journey to the EQ Food Truck Jam on the City of Sydney’s Food Truck app and also check out the Virtual Truck Customization App. Then watch them join together on the map for the first time ever, and be there on the October long weekend for a unique experience, quirky cuisines and a serious impression on the taste buds.

The EQ Food Truck Jam takes place at the Entertainment Quarter’s Showring and Market Canopy from 5-10pm Saturday 3rd and 12pm – 10pm Sunday 4th October, 2015 with free two hour undercover parking at the Entertainment Quarter.
