We all know TGIF, but what about Thank God Monday Is Over (TGMIO)? To make these days easier, Pullman Sydney Hyde Park’s BarTHIRTY6 (located on the ground floor of the iconic hotel) has launched some new cocktails that are just perfect to help you unwind early in the week. You can celebrate TGMIO over the coming weeks with two outstanding new cocktails.
At the top of the list is the amazing Watermelon Martini with Absolut Watermelon Vodka, freshly muddled watermelon juice, simple syrup and garnished with a slice of watermelon, which will help refresh your mind. Fruity, refreshing and just delicious. Also available is the Apple Fashioned which keeps things fruity too with Makers Mark Bourbon, Angostura Bitters, Apple Juice, simple syrup and garnished with fresh apple cubes and slices. With a strong taste on your first sip, this one will really give you the kick to help you through the rest of the week.
As you unwind with a cocktail overlooking Hyde Park, you’ll definitely want to explore the menu as there’s some great food to go down with your drink. A true reflection of modern Australian cuisine with ingredients locally sourced, there are plenty of share plates to choose from including some delectable platters as well as various vegetarian, meat and sea options.
Our favourite from the menu would have to be the Pollo Dorados (Crispy Mexican Chicken Tacos). Words cannot describe the deliciousness of these specially wrapped taco shells but trust us, you will absolutely love them. The extra-crispy finish is just heavenly. You also cannot go past the Cauliflower Bites – crispy bites with preserved lemon, miso sauce and roasted almonds. A great low carb option and great for vegetarians too.
For something more substantial, there are larger dishes to choose from including pasta (the chef special Conchiglioni Pasta is a must-try), pizza, sandwiches and burgers, grilled meats and more. There’s even the good old Classic Fish & Chips – a beer-battered flathead fish, hot chips, tartare sauce, and garden salad. Crunchy, scrumptious and just gets more addictive with each bite.
