The Galley at Sydney Boathouse
If you’re looking to visit a café that boasts panoramic views of Sydney’s gorgeous waterfront and cityscape, then start making plans for a trip to The Galley at Sydney Boathouse.
Given its somewhat hidden location in the Sydney Super-Yacht Marina on Rozelle Bay, this isn’t exactly a café you will stumble upon on foot so plan a drive in and be prepared to experience some spectacular views. The interior plays on a slightly nautical theme which is naturally quite fitting. Once seated on the spacious outside decking area, you can bask in the sunlight and let the sea breeze take you away over a gorgeous seasonal meal giving you a little glimpse of luxury.
The appetizing menu boasts an array of seasonal café and brunch favourites. For breakfast, there’s Black Sausage, Corn and Zucchini Fritters, Free Range Egg on Toast, Roast Pumpkin Salad, Avocado & Mushroom Tortilla, Buffalo Mozzarella and more. We tried the Breakfast Rice Bowl with warm Miso rice, pepita, spinach, avocado, soft egg and nori crisps which managed to be minimalist while still packing a nutritious punch. We also experienced the Signature Smashed Avocado with soft egg, heirloom tomato, Persian feta, and dukkah. We do love it when venues add a bit of dukkah to this classic for some added crunch and flavour so there’s nothing we would change about this one – simply delectable!
For lunch, seafood dishes seem appropriate, given the location. The Prawn Linguini with juicy prawns, chorizo, tomato, zucchini, spinach and a subtle hint of garlic oil is perfectly light yet satisfying. Or opt for Classic Salt & Pepper Calamari with a zesty citrus salad and parsley aioli. The Galley is passionate about bringing people together over food and experiences so sharing options are also on the cards. Try the Slow Cooked Pulled-Pork Shoulder with apple and pear mostarda, kimchi, rocket and maple aioli or the Juicy Roast Chicken with apple, greens, coriander, fried onions, a hint of lime and chilli mayonnaise.
You’ll be wanting to wash down all that delicious food with a drink and you won’t be disappointed with options including coffee, tea, smoothies, juices, and even wines and beers which are available from 10am. So sit back, sip on some champagne, and take in the Harbour views at this glorious café when you get a chance.
