This week sees the release of iconic Australian rockers Thirsty Merc’s Acoustic Anniversary Album to mark a 10-year milestone since the release of their self-titled double platinum debut LP. Dubbed AAA, the new album is a collection of acoustic interpretations of fan favourites including ‘20 Good Reasons’, ‘In The Summertime’, ‘Someday Someday’, and ‘Mousetrap Heart’.
All the songs have been re-recorded with acoustic production, which highlights the band’s exemplary level of musicianship and world-class song writing ability of lead vocalist and songwriter Rai Thistlethwayte.
With over 200,000 album sales under their belt, a finalist in the APRA Song of the Year for ‘20 Good Reasons’ (which also reached #1 on iTunes in Australia) and three ARIA nominations, Thirsty Merc have found their way into the fabric of Australia’s musical landscape.
AAA is on sale now through MGM Distribution.
Frontman Rai Thistlethwayte says, “I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since we released our debut! We want to say a really big thanks to our fans – they’ve been amazing. This Merc-tober we’ll play this album live on tour and throw in a few newbies too.”Sydney Unleashed is one of Australia’s premier entertainment publications exploring the latest in lifestyle trends.
