What better way to see some of this country’s spectacular trails and hidden sights this season than on two wheels!  From the Great Ocean Road to Cradle Mountain, which ever trail you choose be sure to pack all your cycling essentials. Below are Whispbar’s top cycling trails to suit all riders.

Great Ocean Road
Distance: 37-45km

Forget the road trip, cycling is the new ‘must-do’ to truly experience what the Great Ocean Road has to offer. Choose either forest or a waterside trail to suit your fitness level. Experience a variety of scenic natural landscapes on the Colac to Beech Forest trail with Gellibrand a popular midway spot or the 37km Warrnambool to Port Fairy rail trail.

Byron Bay
Distance: 15km

Your next two-wheel adventure doesn’t need to be strenuous. Byron Bay’s beachfront bike paths stretch across 15 kilometres of coastline that take in some of the best scenery northern NSW has to offer. Ride through the centre of town and stop by one of the many cafes, pubs, restaurants, retailers or local art galleries along the way.

Sunshine Coast Hinterland
Distance: 20km

Test your cycling abilities and take in the views at Mount Tinbeerwah lookout on your trek from Tewantin. If you’re up to the challenge extend the trip to the Noosa Headland. The route is steep but the views are well worth the trek. Most trails are suitable for beginners or those with a moderate fitness level.

Blue Mountains
Distance: 22km

Breathtaking views over the Blue Mountains are a feature of this scenic route which also offers fun off-road cycling suitable for beginners and younger riders. The ride begins at the gate on Grose Road – Continue until it becomes a dirt road. This is about 3.4km from the junction with the highway and 450m from the junction with Jennings. Along the way, there is a sneak peak of the spanning landscape but continue riding to the end of the trail where you’ll be greeted with a spectacular view.

Yarra River Trail – Victoria
Distance: 27km

The city of Yarra offers picturesque bike paths offering some of the most striking scenery in Melbourne. Follow the Yarra River from the Charles Grimes Bridge all the way to the end of Yarra’s boundary, stopping by Dights Falls and Yarra Bend Park.
