2018 Italian Wine + Food Festival
Everything that’s good about eating and drinking in Italy comes together under one roof in August with the return of the Italian Wine + Food Festival.
Aldo Ortado from MasterChef Australia 2018 is set to bring his enthusiasm and authentic Italian fare to the festival stage as he demonstrates how to make the traditional Roman-style carbonara pasta and will leave audiences with some take home tips. Aldo will be joining Silvia Colloca (Cookbook Author, TV Host) who also makes her festival debut this year.
The Italian Wine + Food Festival will be held in Sydney on Sunday 26th August at the Australian Technology Park in Eveleigh. Sydney’s top Italian chefs are turning out in force, joining Aldo and Silvia on stage to make it a day to remember, with much-loved locals Stefano Manfredi (Chef, Restaurateur, Writer), Matteo Zomboni (Jonah’s Restaurant), Luca Ciano (Chef Consultant, Author, ‘Luca Ciano Product Range’), Claudio Barzano (MARTA Osteria) and Nino Zoccali (The Restaurant Pendolino and La Rosa the Strand. These chefs will be demonstrating how to make better Italian food at home, and will each be joined on the Main Stage by a producer.
Feast on pizza, pasta and Italian snacks in our pop-up restaurants this year from two award-winning hatted Sydney restaurant’s, Jonah’s Restaurant and Rocker along with other Sydney favourites, Lucio Pizzeria, Via Napoli and Caruso’s Italian Restaurant. Plus there’s a new live hands-on demonstration in the Marketplace where Italian chefs and producers will be showing you how to make Italian ingredients: pizza dough, different shaped pasta, gluten-free gnocchi and stretched cheese.
Shop like an Italian in the festival marketplace, brimming with salumi, cheese, pasta, bread, coffee, olive oil, pastries and gelato featuring Formaggi Ocello, Vannella Cheese, Prosciutto di Parma, Consorzio di Parmigiano Reggiano, Dolcettini Patisserie, Byron Bay Mozzarella, Il Panzerotto Taste of Puglia, Abruzzo Lab, La Favola, Monini Olive Oil, Goose on the Loose, Chef Luca Ciano, Molecola, Truffle Traders, Bellingen Gelato, Dolci Momenti, Pukara Estate, Brickfields, Botella, Cow and the Moon Artisan Gelato and many more including a mini deli called Little Piggy Went To Market by BUSFOOD and Atelier. ceramics. Espresso di Manfredi are serving up coffee made to order and Mutti are running a Bruschetta Station – both are FREE all day!

Delve deeper with an Italian Wine Masterclass curated by our team or relax and soak up the atmosphere with a glass from our wine bars in the trattoria style wine gardens. There’s Moretti Beer on tap, or sip on an authentic Italian cocktail from the Aperitivi Bar, serving up Spritz all day!
Kids enter free so you can bring the whole family, and there’s a kids zone to keep the bambino amused while you enjoy the sweet life. Pizza Acrobatics by world champion Marco de Marco from Assembly Bar, and there’s live music all day.
Just as the appeal of Italian food runs from street-style pizza-fun for the whole family to fresh-pasta finery for the connoisseur, the festival has food and drink, entertainment and information to suit everyone from spaghetti-loving kids to the most engaged Italian-speaking wine lover.
