WAAX are back for Jerry Can & A Van Tour 2025

WAAX are back for Jerry Can & A Van Tour 2025

The Jerry Can & A Van tour is back for its second year – and this one’s bigger, louder, and inked with Sailor Jerry spirit.

In partnership with Yours & Owls, Sailor Jerry are hitting the road for a raw, high-energy five-date national run with Brisbane favourites WAAX.

After a three-year hiatus, WAAX are making their explosive return with new single “UR A RAT”. Fronted by the magnetic Maz De Vita, they’re leaner, louder, and ready to tear it up with intimate, gritty shows that channel everything Sailor Jerry stands for: bold, rebellious, and unforgettable.

A stacked lineup of local talent is set to join WAAX on the East Coast run with Brisbane punks Worm Girlz leading the charge. Ready for total worm domination, the band channel fierce, femme-driven chaos that’s as messy as it is magnetic; with their unapologetic energy and riotous live shows, they’ve fast become one of the most exciting underground acts on the East Coast, perfectly embodying the chaos, fun, and fierce spirit that Jerry Can & A Van is built on.

Joining them in each city will be a handpicked lineup of local favourites, each bringing their own flavour and fire to the mix, including:

UC Hub,Canberra – 5 September

Machine on a Break – Imagine Taylor Swift joining a metal band and you’re halfway there. Machine on a Break, led by Jessie, combines pop sensibility with a heavy, alternative edge that’s as captivating as it is cathartic.

Spouse – A Ngunnawal-based five-piece creating raw, emotional music that channels solace, catharsis and introspection, Spouse are fiercely committed to their DIY roots, having built a reputation through relentless live shows.

UTS Underground, Sydney – 6 September

GRXCE – Led by Jamila Grace, GRXCE crafts the perfect soundtrack for heartbreak, healing, and everything in between. Their soaring alt-pop anthems channel honesty and emotion, resonating deeply with a new generation of fans.

Club Halifax – Hailing from the Blue Mountains, Club Halifax blend heartfelt indie pop-rock with a punchy punk edge, drawing on influences from The Wombats to Boygenius. Fresh off supporting Louis Tomlinson and Sea Girls at Qudos Bank Arena, their latest single Apple Juice marks an exciting new and exciting chapter.

Howler, Melbourne – 11 September and Pelly Bar, Frankston – 12 September

Cheap-Skate – Cheap-Skate is Melbourne’s cheeky, high-energy punk project led by Blaike Murphy. With biting wit and infectious hooks, Cheap-Skate brings a tongue-in-cheek edge to the stage that perfectly complements WAAX’s fire.

Sick Visor – Sick Visor, the duo of Alex and Katie, deliver fizzing indie-pop built on honesty, nostalgia, and playful energy. Their joyful sound packs heartfelt emotion into sparkling melodies that light up the room.

Talking about the support acts joining her on the tour, Maz De Vita explains: “This tour is about reclaiming WAAX in the most raw, honest way possible – and to have these incredible bands join us makes it even more exciting. Each act brings their own energy and story, and it’s such a perfect match for what Jerry Can & A Van is all about: connection, chaos, and community.”

Jerry Can & A Van will also feature a special Sydney-only flash tattoo pop-up with celebrity tattoo artist Lauren Winzer, teaming up with Maz for exclusive content and a one-day-only ink experience.

Maz adds, “Teaming up with Lauren felt perfect. Tattoos have always been a way I connect with fans, like permanent time stamps on our shared experiences. Starting in Brisbane makes it even more special. This chapter is all about evolution, empowerment, and connection.”

Rooted in DIY spirit, Jerry Can & A Van celebrates grit, heart, and the messy magic of live shows – just like Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum, a bold, smooth, and spicy tribute to creativity and self-expression. Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum 700ml RRP $59.95 is available in Dan Murphy’s, BWS and independent retailers.
