Oporto launches limited-edition Portuguese Crispy Burger

Get your earplugs ready, Australia. Oporto is dialling crispiness up to 11 with the launch of its new, limited-edition Portuguese Crispy Burger.

Famed for its Portuguese Chicken and Burgers, Oporto is stepping into seriously crispy territory with a burger that’s big on crunch and authentic Portuguese spices.

Available for a limited time at participating restaurants across Australia, the new Portuguese Crispy Burger is made for those who love their chicken seriously crispy. But here’s the twist. While some Aussies will live for an unmistakable crispy bite, others might not be so easily convinced.

For some, crispy’s not so calming 

New research by Oporto reveals the sound of loud crunching is more controversial than you might think. When asked how they feel hearing someone crunching loudly, just 11% said they find it satisfying, while 70% admitted they feel irritated, and nearly a quarter (24%) said they absolutely hate it.

“The sound of biting into our new Portuguese Crispy Burger is like nothing else,” said Ben Simmons, Head of Marketing at Oporto.

“We trialled the burger in a handful of stores last year, and the response was overwhelming,” continued Simmons. “Customers couldn’t get enough and we knew we had something special. It’s bold, it’s seriously crispy, and back by popular demand.”
