Hay St Market is bringing Euro Summer to Sydney

Not everyone is jetting off to Europe this winter, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out. From now until 30 August 2026, Hay St Market is bringing the atmosphere, flavours and fun of a European summer to the heart of Sydney.

Think spritzes in the sunshine, long lunches, live music and bustling piazza-style dining as Hay St transforms into a vibrant European marketplace inspired by the holiday hotspots of Italy, France, Greece and Spain.

Whether it’s discovering new flavours with the Euro Feast Passport, celebrating Italy’s iconic Ferragosto festival, enjoying cocktails from a traditional Italian-style Drink Window or joining a long-table feast with friends, Euro Summer at Hay is your chance to escape to Europe – without leaving Sydney.

The festival launches with a take on Ferragosto, Italy’s iconic peak-summer celebration, featuring roaming Italian musicians, All you can Eat Experiences, an Italian curated menu, spritz happy hours and lively shared-table dining inspired by traditional Italian restaurants.

Throughout the month, visitors can also enjoy immersive experiences including hands-on pasta making classes and Hay Hay It’s Thursday activations bringing the Euro club vibe to Sydney’s CBD.

Whether you’re dreaming of a lazy stroll round a piazza, a cocktail by the pool, or a feast that would make nonna proud, Hay St is giving Sydneysiders the chance to experience a European escape this August.

Highlights of Euro Summer at Hay St include:

– Euro Feast Passport: Explore Hay St through an interactive European food trail, collecting stamps as you discover signature dishes, drinks and experiences before entering to win the ultimate Hay St Euro hamper.

– Little Explorers Passport: A family-friendly adventure where children collect stickers throughout the market before enjoying a complimentary ice cream.

– The Drink Window: Inspired by the historic wine windows of Florence, our hidden laneway comes to life with a European-style drink window serving curated wine flights, spritzes and signature cocktails.

– Hay Hay It’s Thursday: Travel to Europe’s most iconic party destinations like Mykonos and Ibiza, as Hay St comes alive with a new music genre and nightlife vibe every Thursday.

– Ferragosto Weekend (15–16 August): Hay St celebrates Italy’s biggest summer festival with live Italian music, aperitivo hour, an Italian curated menu, pasta and cannoli specials and vibrant European entertainment.

– All you can Eat Feasts (15-16 August): Gather with friends for all-you-can-eat pasta and bottomless spritzes or endless pizza and wine, celebrating the communal dining traditions of Europe.

– Pasta Making Classes (22 & 29 August): Learn the art of traditional Italian pasta making with Hay St’s Executive Chefs before sitting down to enjoy a shared Italian feast.
