Located roughly 6km from Melbourne’s CBD, St Kilda is one of those places you just have to visit during your Melbourne stay. Whether it be a trip to St Kilda Beach, Luna Park, the famous Espy, or some of the cool cafes located along Fitzroy and Acland Street, you can really make a day of it in this colourful suburb.
If you’re looking for a place to stay in these parts, you need not look further than the Adina Apartment Hotel St Kilda Melbourne located in the centre of everything. Positioned on the upper reach of Fitzroy Street, it’s conveniently close to public transport back into the city, close to the suburb’s most interesting restaurant and bar strip, and literally right in front of miles of parkland and astonishing views of the city skyline.
On our recent stay, we checked in at 2pm and headed up to check out the beautiful room. It was clean, spacious, had a separate lounge/dining/work area, and we couldn’t get enough of the balcony views. Offering spacious apartment living, it made us feel right at home and gave us the chance to truly live like a local.
Some of the nearby spots worth a visit include Misery Guts Bar (a super hipster local hangout), Freddie Wimpoles (another hipster hangout specialising in beer and American style pub food), Milk The Cow (licensed fromagerie serving cheese, wine, beer and whiskey) as well as the Linden New Art Gallery, St Kilda Sports Club, the Esplanade Markets (every Sunday) and the cake shops on Acland Street for some true food porn!
While there are a load of places to explore nearby, there’s also plenty to do if you stay indoors with complimentary WiFi, flat screen television, a mini bar and an iPod docking station so you can play your own tunes. While this is a positive, it could also be a downside if you’re trying to sleep and the guests next door are having a party at 3am.
With 24 hour reception, grocery delivery service, car parking, in-room safe and dry cleaning, you’ll be well looked after. You don’t even need to leave the hotel with access to a fully equipped gym, a lovely restaurant/bar/cafe next door, and Nourish Spa and Skin Clinic on level 2 where you can enjoy a facial or indulge in a relaxing body massage – quite a heavenly experience!
Despite the lack of sleep – we did get some after calling the hotel’s 24-hour reception who immediately acted – we truly enjoyed our stay with plenty to see and do in the area before our 11am check-out. With its contemporary living and working spaces and its highly convenient location, the Adina Apartment Hotel St Kilda Melbourne is definitely one of the top places to stay if you’re looking to explore St Kilda.
