Billi’s Café, McMahons Point

Billi’s Café, McMahons Point

Sitting on the iconic Blues Point Road, Billi’s Café has been winning over locals for decades with their Little Marionette Coffee and freshly baked treats. Located on the bottom level of a heritage style terrace, you feel right at home at this place with its rustic décor and antiquated charm. The no-frills interior features accents of sky blue, with native blooms, classic wooden tables and chairs and nautical striped cushions.

Their new menu has been given the magic touch by famed Sydney chef, Tom Walton. On offer are a range of vegan, gluten and dairy free options to please local well-being enthusiasts. Highlights include Apple Fig & Almond Bircher Muesli, Herbed Mushrooms Bruschetta, and the house made Chai-Infused Black Sticky Rice Pudding with coconut yogurt, berry compote, caramelised banana, citrus and toasted hazelnuts.

For something a little heartier, there’s the Turkish Inspired Labna Eggs with fire roast peppers, bursting cherry tomatoes with tangy sumac and cumin spiced labna sitting on caramelised paprika butter-soaked sourdough. Or the delicious Salsa Verde Eggs & Avo with poached eggs, avocado, salsa verde, watercress, parmesan and lemon on sourdough – a solid offering which gets our tick of approval.

For something really sweet, the Pear, Passionfruit and Ricotta French Toast is your go-to. With whipped ricotta, poached pear, passionfruit, rhubarb compote, fresh berries and almond crumble, you’ll be licking the sweetness off your lips for hours after you’re done devouring it.

If you prefer a burger or a hot sandwich, then rejoice as there are options for you too while salad lovers also aren’t left out. While the Tuna Nicoise and Green Goddess Chicken Salads sound mighty scrumptious, we couldn’t go past the Nourishing Goodness Bowl. With steamed spinach, roasted pumpkin, falafel, quinoa, avocado, hummus, sauteed mushroms, seeds and herbs, it’s a delightful mix of delectableness which makes for a highly filling and satisfying meal.

To wash it all down, try a milkshake, smoothie or juice. And you can’t go wrong with one of their amazing coffees supplied by local roaster, The Little Marionette. And yes, they do alcohol too if you’re up for a boozy brunch.

It doesn’t get much better than a nice walk beside the harbour and a good feed at a top café. Billi’s Café offer just that with its antiquated charm, laidback vibes, friendly staff and delicious food. It’s no surprise that they’ve been a mainstay for so long.
