Coogee Bay Hotel unveils new menu

Coogee Bay Hotel unveils new menu

One of our favourite local’s, the iconic Coogee Bay Hotel, has given its menu a spring clean in preparation for summer. This legendary playground, located across the road from Coogee Beach, will be the perfect spot to eat, drink and play in the coming months with it’s three distinct venues all revamping their offerings.

The Garden, just footsteps away from the old Selina’s music venue where acts like Nirvana and Mr. Bungle casually entertained locals a few decades back, is a place where you can order a craft beer and some flavourful fare and bid farewell to any commitments. You could simply order a watermelon margarita, a bottle of prosecco, or a glass of sauvignon blanc and enjoy some live music as you kick back amongst the ocean scenery.

Delicious eats include wagyu beef burgers, fish and chips, and a share plates menu featuring Sydney rock oysters and chargrilled sweetcorn ribs with Sriracha mayo. The Garden Bar is open late, so as the sun sets, watch today unveil tomorrow, in a place where nothing stands between you, your cocktail, and Coogee’s stunning coastline.

Then there’s the Sports Bar – the place to order up a frosty cold beverage, kick back with mates, and enjoy round-the-clock live sports action on 15 big screens and two mega screens. When you’re after a bite to eat, rest assured the game has well and truly been lifted on pub classics – if you’ve never tried a tiger prawns burger, now’s your chance!

Other culinary delights you wouldn’t expect to find in a sports bar include blue swimmer crab linguini; a 1.4kg O’Connor Tomahawk steak; and pizza topped with jamon serrano, smoked potato and truffle cream. When you’ve had your fill of food and sport, turn your hand to the pool tables, platinum TAB facilities, arcade games, or take part in a trivia night.

For a real foodie experience, there’s no better place to spend a sunny day with friends than Marra Bar & Grill. The sprawling indoor/outdoor light-filled restaurant and bar, offers everything from upscale eats to curated cocktails and even a kids’ menu, headed by internationally renowned Executive Chef, Nathan Tillot.

Among the standouts on the newly revamped menu are Josper grilled meats and fish, juicy burgers and a gourmet grazing board, rotisserie salmon salad, extensive share menus, and tempting desserts. For the mains, our top pick is the Blue Swimmer Crab with linguini, fermented chilli and lemon. Delicate and beautifully simple, it’s truly delectable. You also can’t go wrong with the Fish & Chips or Chicken Schnitzel while the Grilled Snapper with burnt butter, capers and leaf salad is top-notch.

Wash it all down with one of their signature cocktails including the amusingly named Soju Think You Can Dance (starring Good Day Peach Soju) or the Pink Panther featuring Manly Spirits Pink Gin. There are jugs to split with friends full of red sangria, pink gin spritz or Smirnoff vodka with passionfruit and lime, some well-priced mocktails, and a broad range of wines and sparkling.

Coogee Bay Hotel’s newly unveiled menu is just a taste of big things to come. With its delicious new food and drink offerings, friendly staff and easygoing vibe, it will be the place to be this summer!
