If you’re planning a trip to Melbourne, one of the first places you need to visit is Eureka Skydeck.
Located beside the Yarra River in Southbank, Eureka Skydeck is one of the city’s most spectacular tourist destinations. The awe-inspiring views from the highest viewing platform in the Southern Hemisphere will change the way people look at Melbourne.
Located on Level 88 of Eureka Tower, Eureka Skydeck is 285 metres above the ground but only a swift 40 second elevator ride away. Whether visiting on a sun-kissed day or in the glimmering evening, Eureka Skydeck ensures breathtaking 360 degree, floor-to-ceiling views of the stunning Melbourne skyline.
Originally opened in 2007, the Eureka Skydeck has hosted millions of visitors from around the globe, keen to take in the best view of Melbourne. There are 30 viewfinders positioned around Eureka Skydeck helping guests discover places of interest across the city from the MCG to the Westgate Bridge to the Dandenong Ranges. LED information displays projected across the floor point to key landmarks including The Royal Botanical Gardens, Flinders St Station and the Shrine of Remembrance.
Once up at Eureka Skydeck, patrons can choose to venture on to the world’s only Edge experience. The Edge is a 3m by 3m transparent glass cube, which slides out from the building, suspending guests above the Melbourne skyline. Patrons can get their official photo taken while out on the Edge. All pictures are available for purchase and can be sent via MMS or email, ready for upload to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Eureka Skydeck’s Outdoor Terrace, which is enclosed by a wire grid, exposes guests to the outside elements 88 levels up. The Outdoor Terrace is right next to The Edge, so family and friends can view those inside.
You won’t go hungry at the top of Eureka Tower as Level 88 offers a kiosk with takeaway coffee, soft drinks, beer wine and snack food. Level 1 is home to the Eureka Skydeck Gift Shop filled with iconic souvenirs and memorabilia so guests will never forget their trip to the top of the tower. With an online booking system Eureka Skydeck visitors can select their preferred ticket type and have their tickets emailed straight to their inbox for a more timely and convenient experience.
Eureka Skydeck operates from 10am to 10pm daily (last entry 9:30pm).
