The Golden Century restaurant has always been recognised as the leading force in Sydney’s Cantonese cuisine. The icon is well known for hosting family gatherings over live seafood to 3am late night feeds.
Since the closing of its iconic Chinatown location, the group’s other venues – XOPP by Golden Century and The Century by Golden Century – have continued to serve its community by continuing to provide all the classic Golden Century dishes.
Golden Century BBQ is the newest addition to the popular hospitality group that is sure to get Sydneysiders excited. This casual Cantonese BBQ concept has opened its doors inside the famous Exchange Building in Darling Square, located below its sister venue, XOPP by Golden Century. It’s a place where customers can experience the same restaurant quality in a more casual setting.
The Golden Century BBQ menu embodies all the classic Golden Century flavours, while also offering new dishes. One of the menu stand outs is the Golden Century signature Roast Duck accompanied with a choice of rice or noodles. But if duck isn’t your thing, you can try their signature BBQ Pork barbecued over an open flame, Crispy Roast Pork Belly or the toothsome Soya Chicken with rice and vegetables which combine in a medley of delicious flavours that will have you licking your fingers clean once you’re done devouring it. You can even add a side of their famous homemade XO sauce to elevate your dish of choice.
The menu is also filled with Dimsum & Veggie options that are prepared in-house and steamed fresh to order that will take you on a journey through the best flavours Cantonese cuisine has to offer. The Prawn Dumplings (Har Gow), Steamed BBQ Pork Buns and Vegetable with Oyster Sauce are outstanding but our top pick is the Prawn with Chives Har Gow Dumpling – a bite-sized delicacy that is so simple yet so absolutely packed with flavour.
You can wash it all down with a beer (TsingTao or Kirin), soft drink or water to end your visit on a high. With its great food offerings and super friendly staff, we highly recommend you check them out.
