Is Camping Compatible With Your Travel Style?
As a keen traveller, you probably want to experience everything that trips away have to offer. Most often, this lust for new experiences will be reflected by varying location choices, but your accommodation options can also invite exciting trip-based change.
Ditching the hotel or Airbnb for a campsite can certainly open you to a brand new world of travel, and one that’s often far closer to a backpacking style of exploration. There’s just one problem – camping isn’t for everyone. Some travel styles simply don’t seem compatible with this way of winging it. But fear not, in this article, we’re going to consider a few different travel styles, and whether camping could be a good fit.
Style #1: The Active Explorer
You’re a person who loves adventure, and this is a large part of what’s driven you to travel in the first place. You can’t get enough of wilderness treks and exciting vacation activities, and you don’t mind travelling far outside your comfort zone.
Good news – camping is most definitely a good fit for you. By booking a stay on a site close to your destination, you can make sure that the adventures don’t stop when you get back for the evening. Instead, camping can see you cooking over a fire, going on night hikes, and even doing your business in the great outdoors.
Exploration doesn’t get much better.
Style # 2: The Trip Planner
Or, perhaps you’re somebody who loves to plan every single element of your trip. No adventurous spirit for you – you like to know the finer details of what you’re doing every single day of your stay. You likely sit down and plan out your itinerary before you’ve even packed your bags!
Lucky for you, there’s no reason why planners can’t embrace camping life. After all, while you can wing the camping approach, you can also research campsites, book well in advance, and stock your pack with everything from a head torch to a camping gas stove. Stepping outside of your travel norms like this could even give your planning self a brand new challenge to get stuck into!
Style # 3: The Home Comforts Traveller
If you like to feel completely at home while you travel then, we’re not going to lie, you may prefer a warm bed and a well-decorated Airbnb than you will a camping adventure. But, this is by no means to say that you and camping are entirely incompatible.
Imagine it this way – you research campsites to find one with everything from onsite washrooms to a fun-filled clubhouse. To keep things comfortable, you also opt for campervans or even glamping options like luxury travel teepees. Suddenly, instead of winging it, you’re living the life of travel luxury with every possible comfort at your fingertips and, hopefully, for a fraction of the cost you’d pay for a hotel!
Camping isn’t for every traveller but, as you can see here, it’s compatible with most travel styles if you want it to be!
