Page Two, Randwick
We’re always on the lookout for the hidden gems of Sydney and Page Two in Randwick is our latest addition to that list. You could literally walk past it if you were to wander Belmore Road with your head buried in your phone. But if you look up, take the plunge and step inside, rewards await you.
While walking through the venue, you are greeted by graffiti walls and exposed roof pylons creating an urban industrial feel inside. But it’s once you reach the back that you discover the venue’s true hidden oasis. With splashes of colour including some stunning hanging umbrellas inspired by the famous streets of Old Town San Juan Puerto Rico, the “hidden garden area” is the place to be when perusing the menu.
Featuring an all-day breakfast menu, there’s plenty here to cater for all tastes. There’s Eggs with Toast, a Breakfast Burger, Eggs Benedict, Avocado Bruschetta, Brekkie Stack and Dukkah Eggs which we sampled on our visit. Page’s Two’s version of the Smashed Avocado comprises of poached eggs, avocado, tomato and ricotta on sourdough – the creaminess of the ricotta does well to drown out any sweetness resulting in a nice light dish to start with.
The top vegetarian pick on the menu would have to be the Shakshuka. With baked egg, spinach, avocado and feta with harissa sauce, this one is beautifully spicy. If you like it a little naughtier, then the French Toast is your go-to. In what might just be the hero dish on the menu, this one comprises of panko-crumbled brioche, home-made berries sauce, grilled banana, maple syrup, fresh fruits and ice cream. Ridiculously flavourful, totally insta-worthy, and full of finger-licking goodness.
To quench your thirst, there are some amazing freshly cold-pressed juices available, smoothies, milkshakes and of course coffee. They are certainly serious about their coffee with their specialty house blend and single origin, which exhibits strong flavours and a good creamy top. You can even pick up a bag of their house-roasted beans to take home!
Conveniently located on Belmore Road, just footsteps from the upcoming light rail stop and down the road from the hospital, Page Two is the perfect brunch spot. With delicious food, great coffee, and a beautiful garden oasis, it’s well worth a visit when you’re next in Randwick.
