Sydney’s Iconic ARQ Site Reborn as AURA – A Bold New Chapter in Nightlife

The heartbeat of Sydney’s nightlife returns with the launch of AURA on Saturday 7 June 2025.

AURA is a next-generation club experience opening on Flinders Street at the former site of the iconic ARQ.

Following a $2.5 million transformation, AURA emerges as a cutting-edge cultural venue where music, design, and connection converge. Spearheaded by hospitality powerhouses Dave Auld (SEADECK, OASIS), Riccardo Monfardini (MOVEMENT), Bryan Ro (Puzzles Records), and Justin Muscat (ALLFRIENDS), AURA brings global polish to a Sydney institution.

AURA is equipped with a state-of-the-art L-Acoustics sound system, custom-tailored to the architecture of each room. It features a bespoke circular truss, a full LED wall, and immersive production spread across multiple floors. The DJ booth is now positioned within the crowd, blurring the line between performer and guest for a truly interactive experience.

The opening lineup features international and local talent including Tal Fussman, Christian Smith, Savage & She, Shermanology, and Bag Raiders, with a music policy spanning House, Minimal, Afro House, and Melodic/Tribal.

Creative direction by Dave Auld elevates every touchpoint – from luxe interiors to intimate basement vibes and The Alley’s open-air escape. AURA will operate from 10pm to 6am every weekend, with a 24-hour license in place for special events.

General Manager Greg Parker (ex-ARQ), licensee Lynh Pham, and Music Director Riccardo Monfardini lead the operations team, ensuring a seamless relaunch of one of Sydney’s most storied clubs.
