Taste Orange @ Barangaroo
The inaugural Taste Orange @ Barangaroo cool climate wine, food, cultural and tourism showcase event will be held at Nawi Cove, Barangaroo Reserve on Sunday 20 November from 11am-5pm. With over 20 stallholders by Sydney’s spectacular new harbourside headland, this is set to be a stunning way for Sydneysiders and visitors to get to know the Orange wine growing region of Central NSW.
Proudly sponsored by Orange City Council as part of its ‘Visit Orange’ campaign, Taste Orange @ Barangaroo will be a day of cool climate wine tasting, sampling the region’s local produce and exploring the cultural and tourism opportunities the Central NSW region offers. The event is aimed at bringing a slice of regional Australia to life for Sydney residents and visitors and to continue to build on the Orange region’s reputation as a premium wine, food and tourism destination.
Two of Australia’s leading wineries, Philip Shaw Wines and Ross Hill Wines, along with award-winning local cider makers Small Acres Cyder will be present along with an additional eight local wineries. Homemade preserves from vegetables picked straight from the kitchen garden will be available to buy from Franklin Road Preserves, and the Visit Orange team will be present to provide tourism information on the region.
Visitors to Taste Orange @ Barangaroo will also have the opportunity to explore gourmet food prepared with indigenous ingredients by local Wiradjuri food companies, such as Lemon Myrtle Shortbread and Wild Rosella bush tucker biscuits from DreamTimeTuka, and kangaroo sliders and pies from Indigenous Adventures Bush Tucka.
Augmenting the local stallholder experience will be Sydney foodies El-Phoenician, Jimmy Liks, Oysters Unplugged, Serendipity Icecream, and Sofrito Paella who will all be using produce and ingredients sourced from the Orange region – making Taste Orange @ Barangaroo a fantastic Sunday afternoon wine and food adventure by the harbour.
A special offer pre-purchase wine tasting pack is also available online on the Taste Orange @ Barangaroo website so visitors can jump straight into their Orange wine-tasting adventure on arrival. The pack is $40 (incl. GST) for 10 wine-tasting tickets and a free branded wine glass, and can be collected on the day from the Visit Orange stall.
Entry to Taste Orange @ Barangaroo is free. Visitors can purchase food and wine tastings at the event, as well as wine glasses for tastings. Wine Tastings are $4 for half glass(60ml) or $8 for a full glass ( 120 ml) and wine glasses are available for purchase from wine stallholders for $5 each.
