Featuring some of Australia’s finest musical talent, the St. Ives Showground will be the venue for The Big Swing Festival on Saturday 28 March 2015 from 3:30pm.
Presented by the Ku-ring-gai Council, The Big Swing Festival will be a celebration of the classic big band music from the 30s, 40s, and 50s showcasing two sensational16-piece Big Bands – The Sydney All Star Big Band and Sussudio Big Band.
Featuring an all-star line-up, the festival will include Tom Burlinson (The Man From Snowy River, Sinatra), Todd McKenney (Dancing With The Stars, The Boy From Oz), Doug Parkinson (Buddy, Jesus Christ Superstar), Lucy Maunder (Grease, Doctor Zhivago), Emma Pask (Award winner for Jazz Vocalist of the year, Carols by Candlelight), Ashleigh Toole (Australian Idol) and Glenn Shorrock (Little River Band, ARIA Hall of Fame).
These stars of music, television, film and stage will be joined on the night by a very special mystery guest to be announced shortly. They are sure to fly you to the moon!
The Big Swing Festival will feature beloved big band hits and favourites including The Lady is A Tramp, Luck Be A Lady, I’ve Got You Under My Skin, Moondance, You Can Leave Your Hat On and many more and will feature kids entertainment, food stalls, a pop-up bar, and picnic hampers by Thomas Dux also on offer. The evening’s swingin’ host will be MC Neil Hanson (All Saints, Fat Pizza).
