Toast The Macallan
The world’s most luxurious whisky brand is inviting you to ‘Toast The Macallan’ at an exclusive pop-up dining experience in Sydney this June, to celebrate its revered range of single malt whiskies.
The ‘Toast The Macallan’ event series will mark the entrance of the iconic brand’s latest single malt, The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old, into the Australian market and will take place at The Roslyn Packer Theatre in Sydney’s Walsh Bay on 1 and 3 June 2017.
The evening dining sessions will feature whisky-tasting masterclasses from Sietse Offringa, Brand Ambassador – The Macallan, signature cocktails, and a perfectly paired, three course menu curated by one of Australia’s most acclaimed chefs – James Viles of Bowral’s two hatted Biota Dining.
Led by premium marketing and distribution company, Spirits Platform, guests will taste some of the esteemed distillery’s finest expressions, including Double Cask 12 Years Old, the Fine Oak 12 Years Old and The Macallan Rare Cask. Viles’ menu has been carefully designed to complement The Macallan’s rich, fruity, full bodied flavour characteristics.
The Roslyn Packer Theatre will be decadently transformed, reflecting the rich history of The Macallan and the fascinating story behind Double Cask – a tale of two worlds. Created from the perfect balance of sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks, The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old brings a distinctive character to the fore.
Offringa said he is looking forward to sharing his whisky passion and The Macallan’s latest release with event attendees:
“I’m excited to raise a toast to the Australian whisky lovers, introducing them to The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old and our exceptional single malt whisky range.” Spirits Platform CEO Ian Atherton said: “Launching ‘Toast The Macallan’ is a proud moment for us as we embark on our newly forged partnership with Edrington, representing the world’s most luxurious single malt whisky portfolio. We’re honoured to have Sietse Offringa on board, alongside James Viles, and we look forward to ‘Toasting The Macallan’ with both existing and new Macallan drinkers in Sydney”.
The Double Cask 12 Years Old presents flavours familiar to both the Sherry Oak and Fine Oak ranges. The result is a new interpretation of the signature 12 Years Old Macallan: sweet, yet balanced and honeyed in character. This event series is Spirits Platform’s first marketing initiative since its partnership with Edrington was forged in April 2017, which will see the company distributing The Macallan, Highland Park, The Famous Grouse and Cutty Sark in the Australian market.
