Bertoni Ristorante and Bar
From the moment you step foot inside Bertoni Ristorante and Bar, you feel as if you are surrounded by family and friends in a café in Italy. This New York style eatery prides itself on a high-level of hospitality and food; unpretentiously served with love. Whether it’s a take-away coffee and Panini you’re after, sitting down for a home-cooked style meal at the Ristorante and Bar, or grabbing one of the delicious Bertoni ciambellas, you will feel totally at home.
And that’s exactly how we felt when we visited for a modern Italian dining experience. We started the night off with Zucchini Flowers stuffed with quattro fromaggi and the Grilled Vegetable Insalata with goats cheese and hazelnuts. A very filling entrée.
We then moved on to the Pesce del Giorno (Fish of the Day) which on this occasion was mudfish with sweet potato and tomato. A stand-out main dish. The Potato Gnocchi with fungus misti, talleggio, and truffle then followed. The plate was licked clean by the end of the meal!
The drinks menu featured a vast variety of Italian and Australian top-quality wines that have been handpicked to accompany and complement each dish on the menu. On this occasion, we opted for the Chianti – a delicious and very popular Italian red wine.
To end the night on the sweetest of notes, we indulged in some luscious dessert – Hot Chocolate Budino with vanilla gelato and berry compote as well as the Vanilla Panna Cotta with marsala anglaise, crushed amaretti and cherry. It was the ultimate, cherry-on-top, ending to the meal that we were craving.
