City Of Parramatta Partners With The Eels To Create New Activity Zone

The City of Parramatta is partnering with NRL powerhouse, the Parramatta Eels, to extend the home game experience beyond CommBank Stadium for the 2024 season.

The City has created a new showstopping activity zone near Gate B Concourse for league lovers and the community to get in the game day spirit, test their skills and win prizes from local businesses.

City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Pierre Esber said people should feel the buzz of game day the minute they step off the train. “When you come to Parramatta for an Eels game, you’ll feel the excitement well before the stadium comes into view,” Cr Esber said. “Our At Parramatta zone outside the stadium is a chance for us to promote our City’s great eating, accommodation and entertainment spots for after the game and ensure we keep league fans coming back to enjoy all our City has to offer.”

Parramatta is becoming a truly global destination, attracting visitors from all over who want to experience the very best in sport, dining and culture. Parramatta Eels chief executive Jim Sarantinos said almost 30,000 fans had packed CommBank Stadium for the Eels’ first home game of the season, and the Club is expecting another blockbuster this Easter Monday against the Tigers.

“We want fans to not only experience a great game of football but to get a sense of what makes our City so special. We’re proud to be partnering with Council to build on the reputation of Parramatta as a destination and to encourage league fans to stay longer and experience all that’s on offer.”

The three year partnership between the City of Parramatta and Parramatta Eels will also deliver free rugby league clinics to thousands of additional local kids, build participation and inclusion for young girls in multicultural communities and support a new scholarship for women in western Sydney.

Fans are encouraged to show their Parramatta pride at the activation zone at each home game. There are awesome collectors’ items, membership packs, local retailer offers and vouchers to be won before kick-off – simply scan the QR code to participate. Come for the game and stay to experience Parramatta like a local.

With a heap of retailer offers for visitors to enjoy on game day, including Happy Hour from Alex & Co., dining discounts at Milky Lane and 10% off the bill for ticketholders at Restaurant 31, be sure to plan ahead and visit the City of Parramatta for a day of fun, value and vibrancy!

Parramatta Square, Centenary Square and Church Street will also come to life before each home game with live music, roving entertainment, face painting and giveaways for those craving more action off-field.
