Porta Dining: Now Open at Georges River Sailing Club
Following a $12 million transformation, Georges River Sailing Club has unveiled Porta Dining – a waterfront Mediterranean-inspired restaurant pairing bayside sophistication with an exclusive cocktail partnership with Maybe Sammy, one of the world’s most awarded bars.
Porta Dining brings the warmth and vibrancy of the Mediterranean to Dolls Point. Bright, open and effortlessly welcoming, the restaurant blends coastal ease with refined simplicity. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame sweeping views of the bay, while a spacious balcony invites guests to unwind over spritzes and share plates as the sun sets.
Led by Executive Head Chef Harry Finch, the menu celebrates fresh local produce through generous dishes designed for sharing. Porta Dining encourages guests to slow down and enjoy food the way it’s meant to be – together, inviting diners to select a hero protein, pair it with sides in small or large portions, and create a family-style table. Grilled meats, fresh seafood and colourful vegetable dishes arrive in abundant portions, encouraging connection over conversation. Whether it’s a casual lunch or a long celebration by the bay, it’s dining that feels effortless, social and full of flavour.

From fresh seafood specials to vibrant vegetarian dishes, local produce is treated with Mediterranean flair. Small plates including citrus-cured salmon crudo, pickled mussels, whipped salted cod and golden saganaki evoke the setting. Hearty mains like grilled beef cuts with café de Paris butter, slow roasted lamb shoulder with tzatziki, crispy skin Daintree saltwater barramundi, are enjoyed with colourful sides such as charred sugar loaf cabbage, cauliflower fioretto with romesco, Greek salad and heirloom tomato with stracciatella. Vegetarians will find plenty to love, from feta, ricotta and kale spanakopita to harissa-glazed king oyster mushrooms and maple-roasted butternut squash with macadamia cream.
Dessert is a final flourish of inventiveness and indulgence, including ‘Affogato Re-Imagined’ with vanilla ice cream, espresso, caramelised macadamia, chocolate shavings and crunchy pearls, or a Coconut Cloud featuring poached coconut, textures of pineapple, coconut mousse and sorbet.
To wash it all down, the club’s beverage offering is a destination in its own right. Featuring an exclusive cocktail partnership with Maybe Sammy – one of the world’s most awarded bars – the bespoke menu pairs creativity with seaside ease, offering refreshing spritzes, clever twists on classics and signature creations crafted especially for Porta Dining. Alongside these collaborations, Porta also showcases its own signature blends and timeless favourites, complemented by a curated selection of local and international wines, premium spirits and craft beers.

There’s also a happy hour running Fridays and Saturdays from 8-10pm and Sundays from 3-5pm. You can pick up $15 cocktails and spritzes (Espresso Martini, Daiquiri, Aperol Spritz) plus $10 premium spirits including Grey Goose and Patron Silver, all timed perfectly with live music and DJ sets with front-row sunset views over Botany Bay.
Beyond the restaurant and bar, the club’s transformation includes upgraded event spaces for weddings, celebrations and corporate events, a revamped sports bar with casual dining and big-screen sport and a full weekend line-up of music and entertainment. Accessibility upgrades, including a new central staircase and lift, ensure the space is welcoming for all.
With nearly a century of community heritage, Georges River Sailing Club has reimagined dining for Sydney’s south – where exceptional food, signature cocktails and sweeping bay views come together in one unforgettable destination.

Combining waterfront dining, world-class cocktails and a relaxed, coastal atmosphere, Porta Dining has got to be one of Sydney’s most exciting cocktail and dining destinations outside the CBD!
