Sausagefest

Two facts: Aussies love a barbie and we like to help people in need. Sunrise Cambodia is calling on Australians to host a BBQ in Feb or March and raise some much needed funds for the people of Cambodia.

Sausagefest is the brainchild of new Sunrise Cambodia CEO, Lucy Perry. A little tongue in cheek, Lucy is turning the hullabaloo about her tweet concerning equal gender representation at an industry awards night into a positive for the people of Cambodia. “I think we can all have a bit of a laugh at the term ‘sausagefest’ and use it to create something that will actually help people in need,” says Lucy.

The concept is simple. Plan your barbeque and register it on the Sunrise Cambodia site. Set up your fundraising page with Everyday Hero nominating Sunrise Cambodia as your charity. Then invite your friends, family and neighbours and encourage everyone to make a donation. Enjoy your barbie knowing that it’s for a great cause. Remember to use the famous hashtag #sausagefest when sharing your fun barbie pics!

“This is the inaugural #sausagefest and we hope to run it for many years,” says Lucy.
