Atomic: Redfern Brewpub unveils new menu

Acclaimed Redfern brewpub, Atomic, have just launched a brand spanking-new menu featuring inventive pub grub with a pan-Asian-twist, plus a jam-packed schedule of weekly specials and events that won’t break the bank!

Housed in a renovated mid-century warehouse on the corner of Redfern’s Regent & Boundary Streets, Atomic seamlessly integrates industrial aesthetics (polished concrete, stainless steel, weathered girders and subway tiles) with vibrant splashes of colour (bold red, green, and yellow). Owned and operated by Good Drinks Australia, one of the country’s largest independent brewers and Australia’s largest craft brewer, every beer served at Atomic is crafted fresh on-site.

Guiding the brewing journey is Tim Zizzi-Knight, a seasoned craftsman who honed his skills under the tutelage of original Head Brewer, Nick Ivey, who continues to oversee brewing and hospitality operations throughout the East Coast. Atomic pushes the boundaries of hop flavours and beer styles, crafting brews that are rich in complexity yet effortlessly enjoyable. Beer continues to take centre stage at the venue, with the brewery proudly on display for all to see, right from the bar through to the restaurant.

The food menu has been curated to complement Atomic beers by Executive Chef, Danny Sanchez, who carries an impressive resume including previous stints at Movida, Attica, Rockpool Bar and Grill (Melbourne and Perth), as well as launching WA brewpub, Gage Roads Freo. Seamlessly blending Asian influences with pub-style favourites, the latest menu offers a sense of familiarity yet retains the distinctive Atomic essence.

Light bites include Gochujang beef sausage rolls served with a side of sticky kimchi ketchup, Atomic spicy chicken wings with honey sriracha and the melt-in-mouth Beef shin bao. For seafood lovers, there’s the fresh and tasty Cured Salmon with pickled tomatoes, ponzu, wasabi emulsion and ginger oil and the toothsome Spicy Coral Prawns with crispy curry leaves, lime and togarashi – the perfect snack while downing a refreshing schooner.

For something more substantial, there are some super delicious burgers including the Atomic Burger with signature beef patty and Atomic special sauce, the Chicken Burger with Korean fried chicken, kimchi coleslaw, sesame, coriander mayonnaise and Atomic’s redback venom. With the perfect balance of sweet and spicy, it’s pleasurably addictive. Classic mains include the Atomic Hazy beer battered fish and chips, Slow cooked pork ribs with sticky BBQ sauce and kimchi slaw, Chicken katsu schnitzel with tonkotsu sauce and the outstanding Barramundi with gherkins, green cabbage salad, tartare sauce and fries. With its delicious crispy skin and soft flesh, you can’t go wrong with this one!

The brewery’s signature lineup includes the easy-to-drink Atomic Pale Ale, Hazy Session Ale, Redfern Lager, and Mando Sour, alongside a rotating selection of limited releases, seasonal specialties, and daring experimental brews. Among these standouts are crowd favourites, including the GABs People’s Champion Lemon Whip, the refreshing Juicy Lager, the nostalgic Vovo Whip, and the adventurous Talusdega Knights NEIPA.

Beyond beer, Atomic offers a diverse drinks selection, featuring offerings from esteemed partners such as Brix and Doom Juice, providing an array of delightful lo-fi wines and spirits to complete any dining experience.
