Bellucci Cucina, Sydney
Above Ryan’s Bar in the heart of corporate Sydney, a new establishment recently opened its doors and is set to become one of the city’s most sought after contemporary Italian offerings. Bellucci Cucina is its name and authentic Italian fare is what it’s all about.
With a range of pastries and breakfast favourites, handmade pastas, sourdough sandwiches, woodfired pizza and hearty salads to enjoy, we recently got amongst the suits to experience some of Bellucci’s specialties. Their gastronomic offering includes the finest espresso, breakfast, lunch and dinner – big, bold, comfort food with a refined edge. They also plan to own the aperitivo space with their woodfired delicacies and creative low alcohol cocktails enticing the CBD crowd with a full range of house-made sodas and limoncello, spritzers, Campari, Italian liquors, prosecco and wine.
Share plates include Salumi Misti, Prosciutto Melone, Hot Corn, and Insalata Caprese – the latter of which we ordered to kick things off. We love a good caprese salad and the one we were presented with was perfection on a plate. A true Italian classic with marinated heirloom tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, basil, and aged balsamic. Delicious!
With a wide variety of pizza’s available including the traditional Margherita, Diavola, Capricciosa, Bufalina, and many more, we couldn’t resist diving into one of these. We decided on the Stella de Gamberi – a beautifully presented pizza with DOP tomatoes, local farmed prawns, red peppers, nduja, buffalo mozzarella, and basil. One of the best tasting pizza’s we’ve had in a long time. It was so unbelievably fresh and full of flavour. With the addition of authentic DOP certified tomatoes, it truly brought a taste of Naples right to Sydney.
But it’s not all about the pizza – there are pastas and salads to enjoy, Wagyu steak, pan-roasted spatchcock and more to get your teeth into. We thought we’d sample the Linguine Granchio – a delicious pasta dish with saffron linguine, crab, chilli, tomato, and bottarga di mugine. We found it to be a great combination of flavours and thoroughly enjoyed the taste of the crab without the mess.
Bellucci Cucina exudes a refined and relaxed atmosphere with lightning speed service and a quintessential Italian vivaciousness. Open from Monday to Friday with seating for 100, cancel all other plans now and make sure to check out this hot new joint.
