Fireball takes ‘Granny Smith’ literally with limited-edition walking cane for Blazin’ Apple launch

Fireball Cinnamon Whisky is taking Granny Smith very literally this Grandparents Day, unveiling a limited-edition walking cane designed to carry Fireball Minis in celebration of the Australian launch of Fireball Blazin’ Apple.

Giving the classic granny accessory a decidedly Fireball makeover, the custom Fireball Walking Cane features a disguised internal tube running down the frame to hold 8x 50mL Fireball Minis – proving there’s more to a walking cane than meets the eye.

The ridiculous new accessory has been created to mark the arrival of Fireball Blazin’ Apple, the cinnamon whisky legends’ first-ever flavour extension to launch in Australia, combining crisp apple flavour with Fireball’s signature spicy cinnamon kick.

The stunt also taps into Fireball’s newest recruit, 75-year-old TikTok sensation Lorraine Bryant, better known as Groovey Nanny Granny. The Guinness World Record holder and former go-go dancer has joined Fireball Australia as its Social Media Manager, bringing her famous personality to the launch while helping find an Australian granny with enough attitude to take her on as part of the search for Australia’s Spiciest Granny.

“Blazin’ Apple is a big moment for Fireball in Australia, and we wanted to launch it with something that would blow adults away,” said Christina Hani, Fireball Brand Manager.

“Grandparents Day gave us the perfect excuse to take the Granny Smith idea somewhere unexpected, and turning a walking cane into a whisky smuggler felt like just the right amount of rogue.”

And while walking canes might traditionally be more bowls club than nightclub, they’ve been having something of a resurgence as unlikely party and festival accessories. Fireball’s version simply gives adults the trend somewhere convenient to stash their Minis.

There are just 50x Fireball Walking Canes available now for purchase – exclusively via the Fireball merch store for $50.

The cane will arrive booze-free, meaning adults wanting to put its miniature storage capabilities to the test will need to make their own trip to the bottle shop first. Fireball has sweetened the deal by chucking in a granny wig and Fireball scrunchie – so for just $50, adults can go full granny. Bingo!

Fireball Blazin’ Apple is now available for adult consumers of legal drinking age nationwide in 50mL, 200mL and 700mL formats, bringing crisp apple flavour together with the cinnamon kick Fireball is known for.
