Hello Auntie x Donut Papi ‘Hello Papi’ Donut Collaboration

Marrickville OG, Hello Auntie will be joining forces with the newly relocated Donut Papi for a limited-time-only ‘Hello Papi’ collaboration! Owner and Executive Chef of Hello Auntie, Cuong Nguyen and the mastermind behind Donut Papi, Ken Rodrigueza have created two exclusive donuts, showcasing the best of both sweet and savoury to satisfy both palates.

From Monday, 18th September to Monday, 2nd of October, donut lovers can indulge in the Hello Papi Lobster Long John ($15.80), a twist on the classic lobster roll with Nguyen’s Vietnamese flair. Juicy chunks of freshly cooked lobster are mixed with capers, chevirl and topped with chilli threads and dusted with a vibrant beetroot powder. The zesty filling is nestled between Donut Papi’s signature pillow-y eclair.

This one’s a no-brainer – Hello Papi Banh Ca Phe ($8.80) pays homage to the all-time favourite dessert at Hello Auntie, the Viet Coffee Trifle. The freshly made donut is filled to the very brim with a moreish filling consisting of Vietnamese coffee jelly, honeycomb and chocolate brownie; ready to burst with flavour with every bite.

Long-term friends and now neighbours in the inner-west, Nguyen and Rodrigueza are thrilled to serve up a taste of their friendship. “We’ve been in talks about this collab since 2017. We’ve always been fans of each other’s joints – Ken would always leave a box of donuts whenever he dropped by at Hello Auntie. Now that he’s a Marrickville local, we finally found the right time to share our ideas and create something awesome”, Says Nguyen.

For those who dream in decadent sugar-coated visions and those who march to the beat of a savoury drum, the collaboration is available at Donut Papi and all Hello Auntie locations for two weeks only with extremely limited quantities available daily. Snack fiends are encouraged to run to venues before it’s too late to experience this never-to-be-seen-again masterpiece!
