Carl Barron stars as MANNY LEWIS, a successful Australian comic who finds himself at the height of his popularity and the depths of his loneliness. Disenchanted with his life and with himself, he focuses on his career and making others happy.
Desperate to connect with someone, he rings a fantasy hotline and speaks to Maria, who goes by the name of ‘Caroline.’ When Manny meets Maria by chance in a café, he doesn’t realise she is the same woman he was speaking to on the hotline. As Maria and Manny’s relationship develops, Manny continues to call ‘Caroline’ to confide his concerns about their relationship.
