Meriton’s Vibrant Pagewood Precinct Is Sydney’s Newest Dining & Retail Destination

Sydney’s east just scored a brand-new hangout, and it’s providing everything from Japanese breakfasts to cocktail-fuelled pizza nights.

Fresh off winning UDIA NSW’s Best Mixed-Use Development of 2025, Meriton’s Pagewood Precinct has officially finalised, bringing a little bit of everything to the one spot: think cult dining names, family parks, and free kids’ activities for your next weekend out.

Since its debut in 2024, Meriton’s Pagewood Precinct has evolved into a bustling hub offering residents and visitors an exceptional mix of food, retail, and wellbeing experiences. With the arrival of its final restaurant openings, the precinct now showcases an extraordinary mix of cuisines and convenience-focused services designed to meet every daily need.

“Seeing Pagewood fully open is an incredible milestone for Meriton and the community,” says Con Kery, Head of Retail and Commercial at Meriton. “From the outset, our goal was to create a genuine community destination and a place that blends exceptional food, essential services, and everyday convenience. With all our tenants now open, three family-friendly parks, and new community initiatives in place, the precinct is thriving as a vibrant hub for locals and visitors alike.”

When it comes to the food, Kokoroya – the cult Maroubra Japanese restaurant known for its premium dishes and family-friendly hospitality – leads the dining mix. Beyond its signature Uni Ikura Don and Tokyo-grade sashimi, the Pagewood venue introduces an exclusive Japanese breakfast menu, one of Sydney’s most in-demand trends, alongside standout dishes like giant eel served in a custom bowl and M9 wagyu beef.

Also joining the line-up is Hong Kong Café, offering a nostalgic yet modern take on Hong Kong-style dining. Inspired by the city’s vintage cha chaan teng cafés, the menu celebrates authentic Cantonese comfort food alongside a selection of Western-inspired dishes reinterpreted in a distinctly Hong Kong style. Expect everything from clay pots and sizzling steak to baked rice, risotto, and the viral-worthy Hong Kong-style pandan French toast.

Johnny Gio’s – known for its cult pizzas like Burrata Queen and Johnny Vodka – is also here serving up their authentic, hand-stretched and ridiculously tasty Italian pizzas. They hand stretch every pizza in-store to create a delicious thin crispy base. Then load it with fresh ingredients and generous flavours and cook it to perfection in their signature authentic brick oven. Johnny Gio’s offer a very decently-sized 13 inch pizza that will truly knock you for six! Highlights include the delicious Diavola, Tony Supremo, Pasquale and the outstanding ‘The Hesh’ topped with pomodoro, cherry tomato, confit garlic, prawns and garnished with basil. Johnny Gio’s Pagewood will also be the first location in the group to hold a full alcohol license, adding to its signature offering and expanding its dining experience.

Completing the mix are Nem Viet with their authentic Northern Vietnamese cuisine, Thai Thae with their bold and balanced flavours of Thailand, C9 Desserts serving its famous gelato, shakes, and decadent sweets; and long-time favourites Chargrill Charlie’s, Al Aseel, and Leaf Café, rounding out the precinct’s diverse and vibrant dining scene.

Beyond its impressive food offering, Meriton Pagewood Precinct has been thoughtfully designed to foster connection, wellness, and convenience. The entire area features three state-of-the-art playgrounds, creating a welcoming and family-friendly environment for all ages.

Meriton has also partnered with Ready Steady Go Kids to host free weekly activities every Friday for children aged 1.5 to 5, and established a Table Tennis Community with purpose-built outdoor tables to encourage friendly play and social connection.

Meriton Pagewood Retail Precinct offers unparalleled convenience. “From a flagship Coles Local supermarket and everyday essentials like a pharmacy and medical centre, to a specialist health and wellbeing studio as well as a first-class dog grooming salon,  it’s a one-stop destination that reflects modern urban living.”
