ABOUT THE AUTHOR

New Zealand born Benji Marshall made his Test debut in the 32-16 loss to Australia in April 2005. His blistering speed, deceptive step and uncanny ball skills inspired the Wests Tigers in the grand final and his piece of ‘Benji magic’ which resulted in a try to winger Pat Richards was the turning point of the match. Marshall also showed his courage in coming back from potentially career-threatening injuries to play his role in New Zealand’s stunning win over Australia in the 2008 World Cup final. Two years later, he captained the Kiwis to victory in the final of the Four Nations competition. In 2010, he was named ‘Golden Boot’ winner as international player of the year.
