SkyFeast Buffet at Sydney Tower
In exciting news for Sydney foodies and buffet enthusiasts, SkyFeast at Sydney Tower is switching back to an all-you-can-eat buffet, some 82 floors up in the air.
Following a $12-million refurbishment of the Sydney Tower Dining precinct in 2020, SkyFeast head chef Stefan Schröder is in charge of the kitchen, bringing with him two decades of experience across five-star hotels, luxury cruises and restaurants throughout Europe and Australia. Guests can help themselves to more than 30 dishes across 11 sections as the restaurant completes a full rotation every 1.5 hours.
And help ourselves we did on our recent visit to this iconic structure. Upon being seated and taking in the stunning 360-degree views of Sydney, we headed straight for the cold seafood selection to kick off our culinary journey. Starting with the superb Sydney Rock oysters, we then sampled the amazing tiger prawns, poached blue swimmer crab, and cold-smoked ocean trout in preparation for the deliciousness that was to follow.
Hot dishes at SkyFeast are a culinary trip around the world, from Marrakesh-style lamb korma with raisins, to stir-fried hokkien noodles, to grilled ‘roo marinated in native thyme. That’s before you get to the cavery, where whole roast beef is ladled with cognac and pepper sauce and honey-glazed turkey is served with sides such as truffled cauliflower bake.
But we love our fish and dove right into the Tempura fish bites with tartare sauce and couldn’t get enough of the Baked Barramundi with fennel and pink pepper slaw – an absolutely scrumptious mix that had us licking our lips for the duration of the night.
When it came time for dessert, we were spoilt for choice with the variety of options available. Think salted caramel and chocolate tarts with hazelnut praline and dark chocolate rocky road brownies, through to Valrhona chocolate lamington and Persian love cake and khanom chan, Thailand’s steamed coconut and pandan slice. Everything here is simply delectable and will ensure you end your night on a high.
Wash it all down with a nice wine or beer (the first drink is included in the package), take in a few more views, and leave feeling completely satisfied like we did. SkyFeast at Sydney Tower is available for:
