Star Wars Fans Encouraged To Walk A Mile For Scott Loxley

With International Star Wars Day upon us, Sydneysiders are encouraged to descend on Pitt Street Mall on Monday May the 4th and ‘walk a mile’ for Scott Loxley – the Melbourne man who has been ‘storming Australia’ in his full 501st Legion Sandtrooper Star Wars costume since 2013. As an avid Star Wars fan himself, Scott’s mission is to raise vital funds for the Monash Children’s Hospital, with an aim to secure $100,000 for kids in need. Throughout his 18-month journey, Scott will visit every State and Territory and cover around 15,000kms in total. Visitors to Pitt Street Mall are encouraged to donate a gold coin and hop on a treadmill to do their bit. From 12:30pm – 2:00pm, the team at Fit & Fast will be providing treadmills and fitness instructors, with Stormtrooper helmets and light sabers also on hand to provide to some ‘force’ to each mission!

Head chef Ben Sitton recommends adding truffle to any of the restaurant’s signature steaks, classic chicken mains, or the indulgent pomme purée side. A particularly fitting pairing is the new mushroom pasta: tagliatelle with chestnut mushrooms, truffle butter, garlic, parsley, and Cravero Parmigiano Reggiano. The Manjimup truffle add-on is available throughout the season during both lunch and dinner service, with availability subject to supply.

From 6 July, Chiswick head chef Samuel Rozsnyoi will be serving up a healthy dose of throwback nostalgia every Sunday. There’ll be a different menu each week celebrating old-school favourites, plus classic cocktails and timeless tracks on vinyl. ($60 pp) Dish highlights include: chicken Kiev with mash and garlic peas; beef stroganoff pie with duck fat potatoes and garden salad; “Toad-in-the-Hole”; sticky date pudding with cardamom butterscotch; and steamed marmalade pudding with vanilla custard. Sunday 27th July will be a special ‘Christmas in July’ dinner, featuring maple honey-glazed LP’s ham, cabbage slaw, roasted parsnips and a pavlova with seasonal fruits to finish.
