Iconic beachside venue – the Coogee Bay Hotel – has long been one of our favourite local haunts. Located across the road from beautiful Coogee Beach, the always-buzzing venue is never short of entertainment with its multiple offerings.

You’ve got The Garden – a place where you can order a craft beer and some flavourful fare, listen to live music and kick back amongst the ocean scenery. Footsteps away and flowing off The Garden is the Arden Lounge – an art-deco inspired cocktail bar where you can enjoy a casual tipple, get a bite to eat and have a little boogie.

If you like your sports, the Sports Bar has you covered with round-the-clock live sports action while you down a frosty cold beverage and kick back with mates. And for the foodies, there’s no better place to spend a sunny day with friends than Marra Bar & Grill. The sprawling indoor/outdoor light-filled restaurant and bar offers everything from upscale eats to curated cocktails and even a kids’ menu.

Marra Bar & Grill will be the place to be over the warmer months as they have just launched their new summer menu. The modern Australian menu has been designed for sharing to bring people together and showcase the very best of local sustainable produce.

Small plates to kick off with include Oysters, Chilled Tiger Prawns, Duck Liver Parfait and the Josper Grilled Octopus with lemon and chilli – succulent, tender and absolutely mouth-watering. But our two top picks would have to be the spectacular Kingfish Crudo with chilli and lime (light, healthy, and flavour packed) and the Pepper Squid with lemon and mayo (perfectly seasoned, crispy and tender). Finger-licking good!

When you’re ready to dive into the Large Plates, your options include Milanese Lamb Cutlets, Burrata, Scotch Fillet, Josper Roasted Chicken, QLD Tiger Prawns Spaghetti and the scrumptious Pan Fried Barramundi with artichoke puree, watercress and shallot dressing. Topping our list however is the sensational Torched Salmon with wild rice, green onion, roasted corn and sriracha mayo. Lightly torched for a smoky, melt-in-your-mouth experience, this one is simply irresistible.

For dessert, you’ve got a choice of Mango & Passionfruit Ice-Cream, Frozen Creme Caramel or the spectacular Dark Chocolate & Raspberry Parfait Sandwich – a heavenly combo that’s just utterly delectable. Wash it all down with one of their many crowd-pleasing cocktails – or explore the wine list showcasing Australia’s best wine regions – to end your night on a high.
