He’s the Italian superstar who sold nearly a quarter of a million copies on our shores with his last two albums from Universal Music. The brand new album, Viva La Dolce Vita, is again destined to make his fans swoon – and in time for Mother’s Day.
Patrizio Buanne burst onto the musical world in 2005 with a power of seduction that led Australia to fall in love with him and his suave and sensitive artistry. Between two albums recorded for Universal, The Italian and Forever Begins Tonight, a DVD and a compilation of greatest hits, he’s amassed nearly a quarter of a million sales in Australia.
It’s a voice that not only draws you in when you listen to a recording, but a personality that lights up the stage and has people dancing in the aisles at his concerts.
Patrizio returns with an exciting signing to Decca Australia with his new album Viva La Dolce Vita which includes well-known hits such as Charlie Chaplin’s Smile, original compositions including ‘I Will Love You’, and popular Italian favourites such as ‘Gli Occhi Miei’, famously performed in English as one of Tom Jones’ standards, Help Yourself.
Buanne was born in Vienna, raised in Napoli where his family originates from, and studied to become an interpreter. With a love of languages and music, it’s no surprise that he has captured fans around the world.
The dark, ruggedly handsome singer launched his first album in ‘The Italian’ —debuting with a multi-platinum status worldwide. His albums are influenced by the pop traditions of his Italian homeland and have been recorded in various prestigious studios including Abbey Road in London and Capitol Studios in Los Angeles — featuring songs in a variety of languages.
Speaking about his new album, Patrizio says: “It’s important to give people the kind of music I am known for, the Italian Songbook, and as a versatile performer, I’m open to trying new styles, and always love to give my fans something more! Viva La Dolce Vita features international pop standards, some in different languages, which really spreads the sentiment in my music far and wide.”
Patrizio has performed for the Pope, royal families, and a US president. He has toured numerous times across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, South Africa, Europe and the USA.
