Cory Monteith, better known as Finn Hudson in Glee, has been found dead in his hotel room. The 31 year old was found by the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel’s staff after he had missed the checkout time. At the moment, the police have ruled out foul play. As Cory Monteith had been in and out of rehab since he was 19 years old, a drug overdose is suspected, although the final coroner’s report is yet to be released. His girlfriend Lea Michele, who played Rachel Berry in the famous television series, was happy when he checked into a rehabilitation centre during April to recover from his drug problem. His career dates back to 2004 where he had minor roles in Stargate Atlantis and then moved on to other television series such as Kyle XY, Smallville and Stargate SG-1. His big break finally came when he was cast as Finn Hudson in Glee in 2009. He will be sorely missed by Glee fans worldwide. After so many drug-overdose deaths in the realm of the rich and famous, one would question the government’s decision to legalise marijuana here in Australia to curb binge drinking (apparently).
