Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a military shooter set in a diverse, hostile, and mysterious open world that you can play entirely solo or in four-player co-op. Injured, without support, and hunted down by ex-Ghosts, you must fight to survive while lost in Auroa, a fictional island in the South Pacific.
Players assume the role of Lieutenant Colonel Anthony “Nomad” Perryman, a special operation soldier and leader of the Ghosts, an elite US Special Forces unit. The story follows Nomad and his team as they are stranded on Auroa after their helicopter is shot down during a mission to investigate the island’s high-tech corporation called Skell Technology, which has fallen under the control of a rogue ex-Ghost named Colonel Cole D. Walker.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint focuses heavily on tactical gameplay and squad-based mechanics. Players have access to a wide range of weapons, equipment, and skills, allowing them to approach missions and combat situations in various ways. The game introduces a new injury system, where wounds need to be bandaged and healed, affecting movement and combat abilities. Additionally, players must manage their stamina and fatigue, as well as deal with environmental factors such as weather conditions.
The game features a vast open world that consists of different biomes, including forests, mountains, and deserts. Auroa itself serves as a massive playground for players to explore and complete various missions, side quests, and objectives. The island is populated by enemy soldiers and drones, which provide a significant challenge to players.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint also includes a robust multiplayer component, allowing players to team up with up to three friends in co-op mode. It also features a player vs. player (PvP) mode called Ghost War, where players can engage in intense tactical battles against each other.
