Ni Hao Bar Sydney’s New Menu

Ni Hao Bar Sydney’s New Menu

Eccentric and nostalgic Ni Hao Bar, located in the iconic heritage-classified Civic Hotel, has just launched their delicious new menu.

The casual Cantonese eatery, which oozes kitschy Hong Kong style, has released several new authentic yet simple dishes with exciting twists across their savoury and sweet menus to tantalise your taste buds.

In true ‘Ni Hao Bar’ fashion, the founder, Howin Chui has upped their game once again by integrating an extraordinary selection of new, seasonal, mouth-watering dishes alongside their long-standing favourites. Perfect for sharing or devouring on your own!

There are several must-try dishes on the new menu and we recommend a starter such as the moreish Edamame with sweet soy dressing, nori and crispy potato chip to get you prepared for the goodness that follows. The Crunchy Ni Hao Taco’s filled with delicious spicy pork topped buttery American cheese sauce, lettuce, sweet mustard and pickle is another great option before exploring the more substantial offerings.

For something totally mouth-watering, the BangBang Chicken won’t disappoint featuring Ni Hao’s famous Hainanese Chicken, lettuce, sesame and vinegar sauce while the Pork Laksa Boom with laksa soup, coconut milk, fish sauce, palm sugar, sesame and shallot is the perfect mix for a rich and flavourful meal.

Other options on the new menu include the Mi Goreng Original with fries’, eggs, bean sprout and garlic chive or the Drunken Mi Goreng spicy Thai style with fries’ egg, chilli garlic paste, baby corn and Thai basil with add ons including Chicken Original (Salt power seasoning); Chicken Spicy (Korean chilli, corn syrup, sesame oil, Honey); and Chicken Soy (Black Pepper Soy glaze, sesame seed).

You can also order from their regular menu while you’re there. Our top picks are the Spanner Crab Noodle with XO and pork crumbs (so unbelievably delicious) and the Kungpao Chicken with chicken thigh, sweet & spicy sauce, shallot, cashew nut, curry leaf and chilli. An absolute stand-out with a highly addictive combination of salty, sweet and spicy – a must-try!

Their drinks menu is quite spectacular too with plenty of wine options, beer and cider, and cocktails galore. Highlights include the Jackie Chan (Tequila, kaffir lime, lemongrass, galangal, passionfruit, chilli agave) and The Abg (a delicious dark rum mixed with raspberry and black raspberry liqueur, to create a sensationally sweet drink, with the added spark and burst of candy that coats the edge).

With its 1980s inspired charm – including a DJ booth that lights up in Dragon Jade – its friendly staff, delicious food and fun casual dining atmosphere, Ni Hao Bar is a place you’ve just got to add to your bucket list.
